Womens Team

Women’s rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in Malta. It’s not just for boys and men. Many people can’t understand why women would want to subject themselves to what is seen as a violent and rough sport.

Rugby is played by women for many different reasons:

• Its an elegant and beautiful game
• You get to meet different people
• Helps you with personal growth
• But overall…. It’s just so much fun!

All this marked an important step in August 2010 with the development of the Overseas ladies team, dubbed as Overshes. In line with the club’s philosophy all female players are welcome to join regardless of nationality and experience level.

So far the number of players is on the increase thus encouraging us to look forward in taking part in the 2010-2011 local rugby league. The team has already taken part in a friendly tripartite tournament.
